DJ Jerry Black started in 1978 as a backup DJ in club De Viking in Amsterdam, but soon enough he became the regular DJ on the weekends.
Two years later DJ Jerry Black became fulltime DJ in club DOK and worked there for six years seven days a week. Meanwhile DJ Jerry Black grew to be one of the leading DJ's for the Amsterdam based radio station WAPS.
In 1987 DJ Jerry Black started working weekends in club Gay Life. Also he worked in clubs Steps, Wells Fargo and DJ'd on several parties and two times in the Be Bop, which later became the IT.
In 1989 DJ Jerry Black became the main DJ in club Exit and on Sundays in bar April.
